Black Out! Lucy hopped into bed, and switched her night light on. But it wouldn’t turn on. She crawled down, to the end of her blanket, with her eyes poking out the end of it. She saw a pale white figure pass her door. The next thing she knew, she heard the piercing screams of her dad coming from her dad’s room. She went into her dad’s room, and saw him lying on his bed, not breathing, nor moving. Everything went silent. Lucy stood there in shock as she narrowed her eyes to her father’s body. A tear slid down her face.
Lucy had to look for the killer of her father. The phone rang, and Lucy picked it up. The man on the other line said in a dull voice “Use your time wisely because I’m coming for you next!” Lucy slammed her back against the wall, and slid down it until she hit the ground.
She thought to herself, “If the power is out, how could that man ring me on the home phone?” Her brain was ticking, but she had no answer. She heard something coming from the closet, that no-one has ore ever used.
She walked towards the dusty, old door. She slowly lifted her shaking hand out in front of her to open the door. Lucy opened it, but there was nothing in it, except for an old newspaper. Lucy picked it up and read it. She heard a slam of a door, and ran into her bedroom, screaming, with the newspaper in her hand.
Lucy hid under her doona, and read the newspaper. She shone her torch onto the front cover. It read, ‘Local father of Lucy Burnwick, claims he murdered local Police man, Jeff Heffmen.’ “My father wasn’t a murderer,” she softly cried to herself. She wandered off to sleep.
The next morning, she tried to turn her bedroom light on, but the power was still out. It was a couple of minutes after, that she noticed a tall man standing at her door. “I told you to use your time wisely,” he told her, laughing. He pulled a pocket knife out of his pocket.
“No, Noo!” she woke up and it was just a dream. “I was about to get killed!” she screamed.
She went outside to ask her neighbours what was going on, but no-one answered their doors, on her entire block. Suddenly, a storm occurred with powerful rain. As soon as she got home, the rain stopped. It was as if someone had the power of weather, and dragged her back to the house. “Naaa!” she mumbled to herself.
Two viscous red eyes were walking towards her, with a matching body! “AHHHHH!” she screamed as she ran into the kitchen. She was so sick and tired of running, that she really needed a glass of water. When Lucy got to the kitchen, there was a prepared glass of water, but the water was moving inside it. Shocked, Lucy pushed the glass and its contents into the sink.
She ran back to her father’s body, knelt down in front of it, and started praying for him to help her out, in some sort of way. A spirit from his body appeared in front of her.
“Darling, I know you can get through these terrible things,” the spirit cried.
“And I know I can too, Daddy,” murmured Lucy.
“That’s my girl,” he told his daughter as he slowly disappeared.
Once again, a tear slid down her sad face. But she knew she had to fight for the answer. The answer to the person who killed her father.
She went out to her front porch, and looked up at the clouds. They had suddenly turned a dark grey, blue sort of colour. It looked as if it was going to rain for days.
She sat out there for over 2 hours, away from all of the frightening things, and only felt one drop, and the clouds had gone over to the other side of the world. Well at least it seemed like that.
An old man in a creaking wheel chair made his way up her drive way. “Excuse me sir, umm.......this is my house,” Lucy told the man, unsure of what was going to happen next. The man stopped, and then collapsed out of his wheel chair. Lucy went to see what was wrong.
“He came for me, and he told me he’s coming for you soon, Lucy,” murmured the man, panting for breath. The dream was true, she was going to die. “I’m too young to die,” she cried. But she knew she had to find her father’s killer first.
A tall young man appeared behind her. “Your father killed me, now I’m nothing but this.....this thing,” he told Lucy, floating, as if he was a ghost. “I’m now only a ghost, that has killed your father, but I have to kill all of his family. That there, was your grandfather that you never knew. Luckily, the youngest person gets killed last. So I’m coming for you tomorrow,” he murmured.
“But WHY?” Lucy asked, but he’d already gone.
The day for Lucy got better and better. First, the grandfather that she never knew got killed, and then she finds out that she’s going to get killed some time soon. She needed to find all of her family on her mother’s, and father’s side before it was too late. You know, before her family and herself get killed.
But she didn’t know where they lived, or who they were. She gave up. She couldn’t find them in the phone book, on the Internet, or on Google Earth. “Let’s face it,” she cried, “My family and myself are going to get killed. Most of them would already be dead by now.”
“Don’t give up,” stated Lucy’s dad’s spirit, “You’ll save the family,” it cried, but Lucy stayed silent.
When Lucy looked up, the spirit was gone. An annoying noise was coming from the hallway. Lucy went to check it out. When she got to the hallway, she was face to face with a giant, green, scaly Rattle Snake!
It hissed and bit the air, as it got closer and closer to biting Lucy’s head off! As it was about to bite her, with its sharp venomous teeth, Lucy put her hands out in front of her. There was no bite to be felt. She removed her hands from in front of her, shaking with fear. She looked up, and the snake had turned to stone.
“I must have a special power or something like that,” she muttered to herself, looking at her hands, curiously. As she walked away, the stone tipped over, and smashed, without Lucy noticing the big CRASH!
That night she got to sleep really easily. The next morning, she woke and looked at her alarm clock. It said 8:00am, but it was still as dark as the mid-night sky. She went to get herself some breakfast, as a powerful storm started, with lightning, thunder, and hailstones the size of tennis balls!
A sort of frightening shock came to her, as if she was having a terrible heart attack! A chalk board appeared in front of her, as it started to write a message for Lucy. It read,”Are you ready? You have only got an hour of your life left, so use it wisely.”
The hour passed very quickly, but Lucy had totally forgotten everything, except for her dead father. She was walking up her hallway, but couldn’t see where she was going, because it was so dark. When she was walking up the hall, she heard footsteps repeating after her. As the creaking floorboard steps, were getting closer and closer to Lucy, the more and more scared Lucy got about what would happen when she turned around. “AHHHHH!”
No one knew about what had happened. People started to get worried and scared, because no one had gone in, or out of the house for over 1 year! The house had turned mouldy, the plants were out of control, and the bins had tipped over with mouldy rubbish poured out everywhere along the street. The house had turned into a night mare!
